What is Covered?

All you need to know for the Transport Canada test is presented in an in-person delivery with materials that are in an easy to read format that is both informative and entertaining.  You can be confident that the study guide and your in-person classes meets all the standards established by Transport Canada's Office of Boating Safety.

As an extra benefit, when you pass the test offered by CanBoat (formerly the Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons), your card is recognized by BOTH Transport Canada and The National Association of State Boating Law Administration (USA).

How is the Course Delivered?

The best way to complete the PCOC is by attending an in-person class through CanBoat Nanaimo.  Classes are held at the Nanaimo Yacht Club (400 Newcastle Avenue).

The in-person training through CanBoat Nanaimo is conducted over 2 days, typically from 9 am until approximately 4 pm each day.

The final test will be completed at the end of Day 2.

This is the ONLY boating licence accredited by Transport Canada and recognized by the US Coast Guard.
